Helicopter or plane?
Helicopters fly lower and slower — ideal for photos and close views of Uluru or Purnululu. Fixed-wing planes cover far more ground, such as Kununurra to the Bungle Bungles or Lake Eyre's huge lakebed.
Tips
- Morning flights are usually smoother and cooler.
- Wear dark clothing to reduce reflections on windows.
- Book Lake Eyre flights as soon as you hear the lake is filling.
